Cookie Policy
Which cookies and similar technologies Wishari uses, and how to control them.
This Cookie Policy explains how Wishari uses cookies and similar storage technologies. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which sets the wider framework for how we handle personal data.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let the site remember things across pages — for example, that you are signed in. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage, secure cookies) work the same way for our purposes.
Cookies Wishari uses
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the site to work. They cannot be switched off.
- Authentication session cookie (Better Auth) — keeps you signed in. Expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
- CSRF protection token — protects against cross-site request forgery on form submissions. Session-only.
- Payment service provider checkout cookies — set by our PSP when you reach the payment page, used to complete the transaction safely. The PSP currently in use is named in our Privacy Policy's sub-processor list; you can find its own privacy policy on its website.
- Cookie consent preference — remembers which optional cookies you have accepted or rejected. Persists for 12 months.
Preference cookies
- Colour mode (light / dark) — remembers your visual preference across sessions. Local storage only; not transmitted to our servers.
- Palette preference — if you switch the visual palette on the design system page. Local storage only.
Analytics
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics service (such as Plausible or Vercel Analytics) to understand which pages are most useful and where users get stuck. We use this only with your consent in jurisdictions that require it, and the data is aggregated — we do not build individual user profiles for advertising.
We do not use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Cookies that share your data with social networks for targeting.
- Cross-site tracking pixels.
How to manage cookies
You can clear cookies or block them in your browser settings — see your browser's help for instructions. Note that blocking the strictly-necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent you from contributing to a registry.
Where required by law (for example, for visitors from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), Wishari shows a cookie consent banner the first time you visit. You can change your preferences any time from the banner's "Manage" link in the footer.
